Essendon Football Club hosted three lucky kids from the Tiwi Islands last week for a five-day trip to Melbourne as part of the AFL Auskick Remote Exchange program.

Essendon joined forces with Hawthorn Football Club and Balywn Auskick to host Christine Puruntatameri, Paulinus Tipungwuti and Tristan Dixon.

The trio was chosen from Tiwi College as a reward for good behavior and consistent attendance at school.

The five-day visit included a visit to the famous Windy Hill to watch a training session, a tour of the club’s facilities and the chance to meet two of Essendon’s indigenous stars Courtenay Dempsey and Nathan Lovett-Murray.

Also included in the visit was a visit to a local school, playing on Etihad Stadium at half time of Friday night’s match against Hawthorn and a very popular visit to Melbourne Zoo.

The AFL Auskick Remote Exchange has been running for several years and the Essendon Football Club is a proud supporter and contributor to the program.
