East Doncaster sprinter Craig Mair today added the 120m Musashi Essendon Football Club Gift to his already impressive athletics’ resume. Mair, a winner of the Keilor Gift, the 200m at Whittlesea and the 400m at Stawell, won the EFC Gift in a slick time of 12.14 seconds. He finished ahead of Paul Burnett (12.27) and Craig Foley (12.35).

The best result from an EFC point of view came in the 70m novice event where speedster Damian Cupido reached the final. The Essendon players combined to run in the footballers’ relay but were soundly beaten by the Carlton quartet.
