Essendon’s new recruits have settled in with the team on day one of the club’s training camp on the Gold Coast.
Jason Ashby, Dylan Van Unen, Martin Gleeson and Sean Gregory met their new teammates for the first time, while Joe Daniher and Nick Kommer re-joined the group they have already been training with.
Key forward Stewart Crameri said the new players had slotted straight into the team environment.
“It’ good to get away, it’s a different environment to get to know all the new guys,” Crameri said.
“They said they were a bit nervous when they started but they have eased into it now and they are looking really good.”
“It is an exciting time to have new players around the club and we are looking forward to seeing what they can add to the team.”
Van Unen said it was an amazing experience meeting his teammates for the first time.
“It was pretty good to be able to go up and shake hands with Jobe and Brendon Goddard.”
“It has been good getting to meet them all and it is a very good opportunity I now have.”
The Bombers took part in a 2km time trial at Griffith University before heading to World Gym for a workout on day one of the camp.
