What some of the Essendon fans had to say:

""Was solid towards the end of the season, however didn’t get anywhere near enough disposals for some reason. I’m sure he will be a solid contributor for Sydney in the future,"" Ben Hosking

""A decent year from Teddy but he's right to want a move to another club. Showed some good signs but too often got beaten by the top class forwards. Our trade with Sydney was better than we could have hoped for,"" Hugh Fotheringham

""Teddy is one of my favourites and I'm glad that he has moved to a club where he can probably get more game play and on field experience. The longer he was on the ground the more he improved. He is capable of playing up forward and can kick goals, but plays a good defence role as well. I wish him every success at the Swans and will miss him wearing the red and black,"" Julie Quirk

""Limited opportunities at the beginning of the season but strung quite a few games together late season, performed well and sad to see him leave,"" Adam Lunney.

""Ted showed a lot of potential in the chances he was given. He is a versatile player, thanks in part to his strong contest-marking ability. It was unfortunate he didn't get more games, which ultimately led to his decision to leave,"" Franco Ranieri.
