Lloyd ruled out of All Star clash, Hird to play
Essendon captain Matthew Lloyd will not play against the Indigenous All Stars tomorrow night. Lloyd trained well last night but selectors - in consultation with Lloyd - opted to leave him on the sidelines tomorrow night with the NAB Cup opener just two weeks away.

However the Bombers have sprung a surprise with James Hird set to play at least a half in tomorrow night's game. Hird has only recently re-joined full scale training but selectors felt he would benefit from playing in the game in the lead up to the season.
