Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy will have a close look at video tapes of Port Adelaide's training sessions in the lead up to tomorrow night's first semi-final at AAMI Stadium. Sheedy said he had vision of what Port Adelaide had done on the track this week and he would leave no stone unturned as he prepared his side for the do-or-die clash. A full transcript of Sheedy's press conference with the Adelaide media is attached.

Q: Firstly, I noticed you tipped Port Adelaide to win in The Australian - was that a ploy?

A: ""It was a mistake by the sub-editors. You'd have to get some of those ning-nongs up there in Sydney to get their facts right. Some of those guys in the print media just have to get their brains tuned in, but never mind, it's a cowboy town up there. But I did notice Micky Malthouse picked Port, so that's just an interesting observation,"" Sheedy said.

Q: You have been very careful not to knock Port Adelaide in the build up?

A: ""The most important thing is for us to make sure we get over and play ourbest football. We know they've basically got one win out of six or seven finals, that's up to them, that's our job,"" Sheedy said.

Q: Was Paul Barnard picked because of his physical presence?

A: ""He's more than just an aggressive player, he's a very talented footballer - he's kicked four goals off the bench in a grand final, not many have done that in the history of the game,"" Sheedy said.

Q: Do you expect a fiery start?

A: ""Of course you do, I had a video of all their training and they worked very hard around the stoppages there. I had a camera at training and I will watch it again to see what areas they'll be hitting the ball, who's tagging who and who's blocking who. We might as well sort of put a ring around the stoppages department, the umpires will probably be on their toes.""

Q: It is a huge bonus being basically injury free?

A: ""We're right up there with Collingwood and Port as the best three clubs since the break in winning performances. I can't see any reason why we can't keep continuing that. They put us out last year, they went to a preliminary final, you just don't want to let that happen too often. We've been wanting to get back here and try and get back into a final series, into that preliminary final - why not the same team that put us out last year, you can just go after them.""

Q: How would you compare this year's team with last year's side?

A: ""I wouldn't even rate last year's team with the way this team has beenplaying. I also think we've done the right thing, we've only had very limited trainingthis week in regard to resting our blokes.

Q: Will Port lose some players?

A: ""We only know what our men ahead have been telling us but that's neither here nor there. They'll get out and play well and if they've got the flu or an injury, that's life. I don't know who will play. We'll have a lot of people barracking for us - they (Port) have probably massacred every club in SA over the years, they've probably got a lot of people in Adelaide not in love with them. If they're doing nothing tomorrow night, get your butts out there andhave a look at a great game.
