Renowned goal sneak Gary Moorcroft proved on Saturday night he still has what is takes to match it with the best in the competition. The 2000 premiership player booted five goals in his best performance for the season. 2002 has been a disappointing year for Moorcroft, missing over half the season with due to injury. ""I have had a frustrating year with firstly the hip injury and then the elbow, so it was fantastic to get out there against Collingwood and kick five goals. My fitness has been getting better each week and it is back up to where it should be. I am able to run out a whole game again and turn my opponent inside out, which is good,"" Moorcroft said.

However, the 26-year-old is keeping a lid on his performance against Collingwood and said he is focussing on the match against Fremantle this Sunday. He is keen to cement his spot in the side with finals approaching. ""Every game is like an elimination final for us from now on. It was a fantastic win against Collingwood on Saturday night but that does not guarantee us a spot in the finals. We have the challenging of winning our next two matches against Fremantle and Carlton to secure a spot in the top eight. All the players know that the season is on the line at the moment and we have to do our utmost to try and stay in the eight,"" the former Northern Knights player said.

Moorcroft missed the Round 6 match against Fremantle, earlier this season, however clearly remembers that game because it was when James Hird injured himself with the facial fractures. Moorcroft will be doing his utmost on Sunday to ensure the result is not a repeat of the Round 6 result. ""Fremantle is a much improved side this season and we don't want to miss out on the finals because they beat us twice in the one season. A finals berth is at stake this weekend and that is a great enough incentive to get us over the line.""
