The Bendigo Bombers will play the remainder of their 2009 home games at Windy Hill after the QEO surface was today deemed to unsatisfactory for VFL football.
Football Victoria made the decision to transfer the four remaining Bendigo home games following a ground inspection earlier today.
Football operations manager Paul Hamilton said while the move is disappointing for Bendigo residents, the relocation gives Melbourne-based supporters the opportunity to watch Essendon’s emerging talent in action at Windy Hill, kicking off this weekend against Geelong.
The relocated games include:
Sunday 12th July v Geelong
Sunday 26th July v Nth Bullants
Sunday 2nd August v Sandringham
Sunday 23rd August v North Ballarat
All games are scheduled to commence at 2pm following the reserves at 11am.
Essendon members who present their 2009 membership will receive free entry to the games.
Make the most of the day and book into Windy Hill Venue's Terrace Bistro for lunch. Phone 9230 0335 to reserve your seats.
Essendon champion, Mark McVeigh, will play against Sydney this Saturday after over-coming general soreness that forced him to miss Bendigo's game last weekend. ""He will definitely come back into the line-up,"" Knights said. ""He was a little bit sore late last week, he obviously trained pretty hard and wanted to get going again and got a little bit sore.
