Which Bomber does the best goal celebration?
<DIV>
Nothing fires up an Essendon crowd more than their side kicking goals, especially when the player celebrates the moment with team-mates and fans.
This year we’ve seen some exciting goals kicked and some euphoric celebrations – Angus Monfries’ pumping fists, Andrew Lovett’s one arm salutes to the crowd and Sam Lonergan jumping in the air not able to contain his delight.
In this week’s poll we ask which Bomber celebrates best after a kicking a goal?
Maybe you think it’s Jason Windlerlich gesturing up towards the football gods after he has drilled a major or the electrifying celebrations Kyle Reimers performs after he has slotted one through.
In last week’s poll we asked who you thought would poll the most votes in the NAB Rising Star Award and Tayte Pears was the overwhelming winner collecting 80% of the votes ahead of David Zaharakis and Michael Hurley who each polled 10%.
Here’s what some of the fans had to say:
Sam Cantwell from Traralgon says: It would have to be Tayte Pears. Hurley and Zaharakis haven’t played enough games. Pears has been consistent and is an exciting young prospect, he will one day match the likes of Dustin Fletcher.
Jake from Victoria says: I like how all three have come along in this season. Tayte Pears has been improving each week and has done a great job on the elite full-forwards of the game. Michael Hurley has shown that he will be a very important and great player for the club. David has shown skill in the games that he has played, making his mark on the football world on ANZAC day. Go the bombers!
Joseph Attard from Taylors Hill says: When Hurley gets a nomination, he may be a strong candidate, even so, I think Pears has done enough to poll the most votes for Essendon and may be 2nd or 3rd in the total votes in the AFL.
Jeremy from Victoria says: Hurley has been amazing up in the back and it is his first year!! He has got my vote!!
Samantha from Delahey says: Pears by a mile. He has had the most game time and is really showing a lot of potential. This kid will only get better, needs to play on some more guns like Brown, Fevola, Franklin etc.
Andrew from Essendon says: I don't know how you could say Hurley will get votes when he hasn't even been nominated. I hope he does by the end of the year though. Zaharakis hasn't played enough footy like Tayte has, so this is really a no-brainer- Tayte gets my vote.
Greg Sloan from Somerville VIC says: Pears easily. Hurley does look the most impressive talent wise and Zaharakis is a star in the making, but Tayte has cemented his spot and been very consistent all year.
Angus from Beau says: Tayte Pears has played more games than David Zaharakis and has played some awesome matches, I think he will poll the most votes.
James Brown from Berwick, Vic says: I’m not sure if we can call this the year of the baby bombers- last time we were given that title, we won the flag and at the moment, it'll be a stretch to even play finals. Pears will poll best out of the three. He has had more good games than the others. His run out of defence has been a highlight, as well as his ability to compete in the contest. Zaharakis hasn’t played enough good games, and Hurley has missed too many games.
Ness from Vic says: Tayte Pears has improved heaps! He will poll the best out of the three.
