Bendigo has gone down to Collingwood by 13points in the VFL at Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo this afternoon.

Bendigo got off to a strong start to leadby a point at the first change but a strong second half from the Magpies set upa comfortable win 13.17.95 to 11.16.82.

Essendon second round selection in the draft JacksonMerrett had his best game for the season collecting 25 possessions and providinggood run.

Bendigo coach Hayden Skipworth said Merrettwas rewarded for all his hard work during the season with an impressiveperformance.

“Jackson ran the lines really hard, hisrunning was excellent and he would have been our best player this afternoon.”

“He was hard at the ball and it was a goodreward for all the hard work he has put in this season.”

Cory Dell’Olio also proved important upforward for Bendigo, providing plenty of spark for the home side.

“Cory was really good, he kicked a coupleof goals, looked lively and defensively was very goos as well,” Skipworth said.

Brendan Lee was tagged in a show of hisimportance to Bendigo so far this season and tried hard all day.

Michael Ross also showed positive signs inhis second solid game in a row.

Andrew Krakouer and Brent MacAffer madesuccessful return from knee injuries for the Magpies as Alan Didak alsocontinued his return from injury.

The Bendigo side got through the game withoutand injuries and will now have a bye before they take on Port Melbourne inround 21.
