Alwyn Davey will miss the remainder of the season after scans last night confirmed cracks to both bones in his forearm.

Essendon general manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said medical treatment last night revealed fractures but no displacement to both Davey’s radius and ulna.

“Alwyn had it confirmed last night that both his bones have cracks in them,” Hamilton said.

“The next step will be to see the specialist to determine whether he will need a plate or whether we will put it in plaster and let it heal naturally because there hasn’t been a displacement.

“The specialist will determine what the further action is and we will know from there.”

Davey sustained his injury in the second quarter of Essendon’s loss to Carlton and did not take further part in the game.
