Following the conclusion of Round 11, AFL clubs can now upgrade a rookie anytime until the Tuesday before Round 22 (subject to meeting TPP requirements).

Ben Howlett was already promoted earlier this season while another position on Essendon's list is currently available for another rookie. A third rookie elevation is also a possibility following the long-term injury to Jason Laycock. This heads Essendon's involved in this week's AFL news.
