The Essendon players are back at the club today for their end of season medical examination. Football operations manager Dominic Cato said the medical and fitness staff put each player through a 30-minute test. ""Each player’s physical condition is assessed and a decision on post-season surgery is made,"" Cato said.

""John Quinn also tests the body fat and weight of each player and sets a target weight for each player to return from leave.""

Over the next two days each player will also have an end of season review with Bomber coach Kevin Sheedy. ""Each player has approximately a one hour discussion with Kevin about their performance this season, where their form is at and also goals and targets for the forthcoming year,"" Cato said.

The playing group is officially on annual leave from tomorrow afternoon for two months. The player’s final appearance for the season is at the 2004 Crichton Medal on Wednesday, September 29th at Palladium Ballroom, Crown. Click here for more information about the best and fairest night.
