If Kevin Sheedy could have his time again this season he would have handled the return of Adam Ramanauskas differently. ""If I look back maybe I should have played him every second week and rested him every other week. Not unlike what Alistair Lynch has been able to achieve by not playing every match for Brisbane,"" Sheedy said.

Sheedy said he would consider resting Ramanauskas this week due to his current form slump. Ramanauskas played just 35 minutes of the Round 21 game against Sydney and collected just two possessions during this time. Sheedy said that his selection this week would largely depend on what is best for the team.

In other selection news, Sheedy said he would consider playing veterans Joe Misiti and Mark Mercuri against the Western Bulldogs. Misiti was a late withdrawal from Saturday night’s match with a sore knee. ""If Joe is 100%, he is struggling to get fit to be honest, he might get a game. We will work that out if he is fit,"" Sheedy said.

Mercuri was best on ground in Bendigo’s 77-point win yesterday against Tasmania. The 29-year-old collected 22 possessions and starred up forward. ""Mark’s form has been good again, he kicked six goals on the weekend,"" he said. ""He will have to be there for consideration.""

Essendon needs to win on Sunday against the Bulldogs and also hope that other results fall their way, to have any chance of making the top eight. ""The players know what they have to do. Hopefully some results go our way also.

""All we can do is go out there and try and win this game ourselves. It will be tough because the Western Bulldogs were very good on the weekend.""

Sheedy urged Essendon fans to get along to The Pressure Cooker on Sunday and show their support for the Bombers. ""We are on the doorstep of turning over one million people through the gates this week. If we can get 46,000 people along to The Dome, then we have beat all the other clubs to one million people coming to our games – and we have had a medium year.""
