Essendon chief executive Peter Jackson today described as ""rubbish"" reports in the Weekend Australian that Essendon Football Club had sold its internet rights to Channel Seven. Jackson said he was staggered to read the story. ""This club has always maintained that it will not sell its internet rights in the forseeable future - the suggestion that we had sold them to Channel Seven is simply wrong,"" Jackson said. ""We didn't comment on the story and I am assured Channel Seven didn't either so where it has come from I don't know.""
Jackson confirmed the club had held informal discussions with i7 over the past 12 months to discuss the site but it has always been understood the ownership of the site will remain with Essendon Football Club.
