Assistant coach Mark Harvey believes the two week suspension Dustin Fletcher received at the AFL Tribunal last night was severe. ""It is interesting that we have only made the decision earlier today to appeal and in the lead-up from last night until we made our decision, everyone (media scribes) was telling us to appeal. So obviously I am not the only one that thinks that way,"" Harvey said. ""If you go back and look at the reports he has had, there has been minimal damage to the person he has collided with - so you make up your own mind.""

Fletcher and the club will learn his fate at the appeal tribunal this evening. If he doesn't get off the two week penalty, Harvey said the team has a number of options to play at fullback. ""It will depend on team balance who we bring in. We have a number of guys who can play fullback - Danny Jacobs has done it very well. Bolton, Scott Lucas can go back into defence and even Aaron Henneman can play back there. We have a number of options there. Who we will bring in will depend on who we need to beat Port Adelaide,"" Harvey said.

Port Adelaide has come under intense media scrutiny all week about their shock loss to Sydney last Sunday. Harvey said Port deserves more respect and Essendon will not get involved with calling Port ""chokers"". ""We will just rely on our actions beating Port Power. The pressure that is put on Port Power will be put on from the media not us. Hopefully we can expose that like other sides have done over the past couple of years. You will find this camp being very quiet leading up to the game.""

In response to the poor ticket sales for the Essendon v Port final, Kevin Sheedy and the coaching staff have encouraged all Bomber supporters to get along to AAMI stadium and support the team. ""If they can't sell the tickets over there, then we will sell them over here. If they don't get the crowd they want there, then the home ground advantage pretty much goes out the window. Hopefully we can outweigh them with noise from our supporters on Saturday night,"" Harvey said.
