Young key forward prospect Scott Gumbleton will be rested for Friday's night's NAB Cup game against West Coast after feeling some soreness in his back.

""Scott Gumbleton unfortunately had a slight back spasm yesterday in a light hit-out so won't be making the trip to Subiaco,"" Knights said.

Knights said the 197cm tall was looking likely to play but would now be rested as a precaution along with Brent Stanton, David Myers and David Hille.

""He (Gumbleton) was pretty locked up yesterday but was out there this morning walking better and the medical staff put some work through him and he had a smile on his face this morning so we are aiming for the second round.

""We play this Friday night and then have a week off so for those type of boys, Myers and Gumbleton, it's the second round.""

Knights said he was happy Gumbleton got through last week's intra-club game well.

""It was very pleasing and fantastic to see him run around last week in Shepparton,"" he said.

""He played four, 20 minute quarters and he pulled up well and just in an innocuous incent yesterday (at training) he slightly twisted and locked up his back.

""Jason Winderlich copped a heavy knock last season and had a back spasm and three or four days later he freed up pretty well we are hoping this is along the same lines as he came back and played pretty well during the season.""

Membership News Update:

More than 20,000 membership packs have now been sent out to Bomber supporters and thousands more will be sent out in February.

The unexpected delay in the mailing of 2010 membership packs is due to a number of factors including an upgrade of Essendon’s IT systems which will ultimately improve the accuracy of club information.

The club is aiming to have all membership packs sent out in the near future and thanks supporters for their patience.
