Fans found it difficult to rate Sam Lonergan’s season, playing just the one senior game in round 15 against St Kilda. But having shown some solid form in the VFL, they believe with another pre-season, he has the potential to play more senior games for the Bombers in 2007 and beyond.

What some of the Essendon fans had to say:

Did a few good things in his debut game. Hope he works hard over the pre-season to force his way into the senior side. (Brandon Gillman)

Good in the VFL and looked to have what it takes in the seniors, not afraid to put his head over the ball. (Julian McGuire)

An impressive finish to the season. This guy has the goods and will be a regular starter in the next 2 years. A player who reads the play well and makes good decisions. (Rob Carew)

Good to see him make his debut this season and hopefully he is a better player for that experience. (Samuel Wharton)

A real goer who played some good games for Bendigo Bombers. Needs more development work on his body and disposal skills. (Alan Betts)

Excellent in the VFL provided a handy target up forward, and a excellent midfield option. Needs to work hard over the off season and gain the size and stamina it will take to play more games in 2007. (Jake Sluiter)
