Twenty-two year old Brent Stanton is fast becoming one of Essendon's most decorated players.

Last year he was given James Hird's famous No.5 playing jumper and this Sunday he ticks off the '100th game' milestone, but for the boy from the Northern Knights there's only one thing that matters: Winning on Sunday.

""It's exciting to play 100 games at the club you started with but more important is trying to win the game this weekend,"" he said.

""The biggest accolade in footy is winning games and making the finals which we haven't done for a while.""

Speaking to media today, Stanton said has leant to speak up more at the club and is trying to lead with his actions.

""I was pretty young when I came into the system and have been pretty fortunate that I haven't had too many injuries,"" he said.

""We are trying to focus on a few areas that we think we are deficient in at the moment, and if we improve on them, we think we can win the game this weekend. We can only control what's in our hands and that is what we are trying to focus on.""

Stanton and Prescott again defended Andrew Lovett who came in for criticism for giving his account of an incident with Port's Dean Brogan at the start of the quarter-time break.

""Internally we are backing Andrew, he did nothing wrong,"" Prescott said.

Prescott also says the club isn't feeling any extra internal pressure after an intensive week under the media glare.
