Essendon Football Club today launched its official 2011 “Stand As One” membership campaign, with new coach James Hird telling Bomber fans that the Club needed to unite as one.
“If our great Club is to be considered a powerhouse, we must now stand as one and show the rest of the competition the red and black army is a force to be reckoned with again,” Hird said.
Essendon have set a target of 50,000 members for the 2011 season, with Hird saying it’s time for supporters to turn their passion into action.
Chairman David Evans reminded all fans that they have an important role to play in rebuilding our great club.
“Being a part of a football club is just that...being a part of it and each fan can play their part by joining us as a member. I can safely say it is so exciting being involved in the Essendon Football Club at the moment,” he said.
“Together, we are all united in moving forward – and the time has come to Stand as One. Proud, United and Excited. As chairman of Essendon Football Club I can proudly say - I am One.”
