The future of a number of key Bomber players have been secured with Andrew Lovett, Andrew Welsh, Nathan Lovett-Murray, Jay Nash, Jay Neagle and Sam Lonergan signing new contracts in the past month.

Lovett, Welsh, Lovett-Murray, Nash and Neagle have signed for the next two years while Lonergan, who strained the medial ligament in his right knee towards the end of the season while playing for Bendigo, signed for a year.

Since July, Brent Stanton has resigned for the next three season, Paddy Ryder and Courtenay Dempsey for two and Jason Winderlich extended his contract for a year to include season 2009.

Chief Operating Officer, Travis Auld, said that the Club is excited to have secured the services of this key group of exciting young talent and said they are expected to be extremely important players in the Bombers' future.

""Some of these young men, like Lovett and Welsh, are established players but still have plenty of improvement in them and others, like Neagle, are just starting out but have shown considerable promise,"" Auld said.

""It is great news for the Club to have them signed and committed to Essendon.""
