""We went inside 50m more often, we had five more shots at goal, we had more tackles, more handball receives and we broke even at stoppages. Unfortunately the scoreboard didn’t reflect the effort,"" he says in the Word from Hird.
A recent shoulder injury has hampered Matthew Lloyd’s campaign to win his fourth Coleman Medal. The 26-year-old has booted four goals in the past three weeks since hurting his shoulder in Round 19 against Carlton and trails St Kilda’s Fraser Gehrig (86) by three goals on the AFL goal kicking tally.
