BOMBERS SUFFER SHOCK LOSS
Carlton pulled off a huge upset tonight with a 17 point victory over the Bombers in a tight, scrappy contest at the MCG. The Blues lost Bradley, Koutoufides and Silvagni pre-match, but recovered to first strangle the contest, then charge home with the last six goals after falling 17 points behind early in the final quarter. Too many Bombers were way below their best, in what turned out to be a vastly disappointing performance. Only Matthew Lloyd stood tall with five goals.
