The Essendon selectors haven't sprung any surprises for tomorrow night's clash with Carlton making just one enforced change to the side that comfortably defeated Port Adelaide at Colonial Stadium last Friday night. Rugged All-Australian half back Damien Hardwick will play his first game of the season against the Blues. Hardwick's return from injury is timely with Dean Rioli being ruled out with a hamstring injury. Rioli had spent the first two games playing in the back half for the Bombers.
Dean Wallis will also make his long awaited return to football against Carlton in tomorrow afternoon's VFL game. Wallis, who has struggled to shake a hamstring injury in recent weeks, has been named at full back. Daniel McAlister is missing this weekend after he was suspended for a week after being found guilty of a tripping charge in last weekend's VFL match against Frankston.
The VFL team for tomorrow's match is:
Backs: D. Johnson Wallis Lalich
Half backs: Hunt Bolton Forster-Knight
Centre: Bullen McGrath Davies
Half forwards: Bannister Robran Switala
Forwards: Mahoney Richards Kenny
Followers: Hille Peverill Denham
