The second annual Active Kid’s Day was held at Windy Hill this week with around two thousand youngsters joining Essendon players - including Angus Monfries and Ricky Dyson - and Melbourne Vixen players.

The Day was an opportunity for the local Essendon community to experience a variety of sports and activities and learn about the importance of being involved in physical activity.

There were opportunities for students to sign up with a local sporting club or be exposed to different forms of recreational activities and learn about the importance of healthy nutrition.

Active Kid’s Day 2009 was run in conjunction with Moonee Valley City Council and Bendigo Bank - Strathmore Community Bank Branch.

Essendon wishes to thank these partners in supporting an event that we hope will grow significantly in 2010.
