Essendon's Irishman Michael Quinn claimed the top honours in the Bendigo Bombers’ best and fairest awards on Friday night, being awarded the Carter Medal for a strong individual season.

Quinn finished with 166 votes to finish ahead of Stewart Crameri (148) and Bachar Houli (141).

Bendigo coach Shannon Grant said Quinn has shown continual development this season in a variety of roles.

“Michael is one of the most coachable young guys I have come across,” Grant said.

“He listens, follows instructions and regardless of what his role is, he does what is required for the team.

“He has played some really good footy this year and has also had the opportunity to play some senior football for Essendon as well so we look forward to his continued development in the years to come.”

Ben Duscher was awarded the Graham Warfe Memorial Award for the best first-year player.
