Bombers head back to school
The Essendon players were in unfamiliar territory when they were met by adoring fans bearing the colours of opposing AFL teams as they paid visit to schools throughout the area to celebrate Football Day as part of Essendon’s Multicultural program. Scott Lucas, Adam Ramanauskas, Jason Johnson and Andrew Welsh were just a few of the players who visited schools to talk to the students about playing AFL Football and the pathways to join a football club or Auskick.

The school children were encouraged to dress up in their team colours and created a colourful exhibition of all things AFL. After participating in an umpiring clinic and a police presentation, they were treated to a BBQ lunch and DVD presentation.
All families of the students involved in the Multicultural program are invited to watch Essendon as they take on Hawthorn this Saturday.
Jason Winderlich and Andrew Welsh are set to return to the Essendon line up to take on Hawthorn this weekend. And ruckman David Hille – who missed the Anzac Day game with hamstring soreness – is also a good chance of making a quick return.
