What some of the Essendon fans had to say:

""After a long wait David finally stamped himself as a big man who can take it up to the other big men in the league. His drive and strength was impressive and given a full 2006 season he should reach even greater heights,"" Dean Horton

""Missed the first half of the year with injury, but demonstrated on his return what a key player he is to our side in the ruck and down forward. Capable of holding down the ruck or a key forward post, lets hope he remains injury free in 2006,"" John Harink

""Continues to improve each year. His impact when he came back into the side was immediate- runs hard, a good mark and is becoming one of the most important players in our side,"" Hugh Fotheringham

""The guys has a massive future if he can just stay out of injury's way. Love his attack on the footy, he can run all day and has the overhead skills that can develop him into a champion ruckman,"" Chris Hill

""David was a very valuable player in 2005, taking over most of the ruck duties for the year. His ankle injury at the start of the year was an interruption but he carried good form over the season,"" Kaye Mullins

""We sorely missed David early in the year and this impacted on our overall ladder position. 2006 is crunch year and David needs to show us just how good he is."" Mike Eising
