Essendon youngster Joel Reynolds has experienced a horror run with injuries since joining the club in 2002. Glandular Fever, hamstring injuries, osteitis pubis and injuries to both ankles have all sidelined him at different times but he is hopeful that is now all behind him and he can get on with playing some good football.

Reynolds, along with the likes of Jobe Watson, Brent Stanton, Ricky Dyson and Jason Laycock will play important roles for a resurgent Essendon outfit in 2005.

""It is really hard spending so much time watching from the stands. You see other players grabbing opportunities and you just wish that you could be a part of it,"" Reynolds said this afternoon. ""It is hard not to dwell on it and you do get a bit flat at times but I’m now looking forward to pre-season and getting things back on track.""

Reynolds has played 26 games for the Bombers since making his debut against Brisbane at the Gabba in the opening round of season 2002. But he managed just three games last season.

""I have already spoken with John Quinn about my program for next season and I will be doing a fair bit before I return. Hopefully the right preparation and a bit of luck will keep me injury free.""
