What some of the fans had to say about Angus:
Eddie Bostjancic - Massive heart, well done on a great year, good to watch when up and going...keep working hard.
David Street - This year was probably his best. Still needs to improve so that he can make a worthwhile contribution on the ball as well as up forward. His disposal is better than Watson and Stanton, but could still be improved. Kicks some great goals.
Jan Di Pietro - More improvement to be had, but what a great year. Exciting stuff!
Emily Paton - Pretty good season with some moments full of excitement! Looking forward to watching him play in a fully fit team. Hopefully he can continue to shine and begin to lead.
Luke Jones - What can I say, we need to keep Monfries. He can play forward and in the middle and he was one of our best players this year but is capable of more.
Graeme O'Brien - Took the next step when the chips were down at the start of the year. Hopefully will continue to improve and show consistency. Very courageous player and exciting to watch as per Carlton match.
Brendan Burnie - Exciting to watch Angus play his game. Hard at the ball, good kick, has some pace and not afraid to down and dirty in the scrums. Good year mate, look forward to many more years, hopefully with a bit more success.
Mark Grant - Highly improved and as courageous as anyone going around. Angus only needs to improve his consistency. Another big pre season and watch out for Monfries in 2009.
George Elcatsha - Has had his best season in 2008. His best game came in Round 13 when he finished with 4 goals and 25 disposals.
Danny Namoni - A super year for Angus he took great speckies.
Shadae' Coulthard - Angus has displayed great work is season with everything he has done. He has had great goals and fantastic marking. He has really stepped up and has shown great skills!
