Coach Matthew Knights has urged supporters to keep the faith despite a poor Anzac Day showing against Collingwood on Sunday.

Knights told Bomber.tv he shared the fans disappointment following the club’s 65-point loss but hoped they would continue to support the team through a tough patch.

“Most of our supporters wear their heart on their sleeve and just want to see Essendon doing well and winning, which is something I can understand,” he said.

“They are a little bit frustrated at the moment and I can completely understand why they are.

“I can guarantee our fans that we are on a vision, we are on a plan and we are going to keep going after it.

“We are only five games in so there is plenty of season to be run and won.

“We still have high expectations of ourselves – as we should being a big, powerful club.”
Knights praised fans for their ongoing support of the club and holds hope that they will eventually reap the rewards.

“Our fans and members have high expectations and so they should. Their support of our club is fantastic,” he said.

“I hope they get the reward down the track. That is what we are looking for.”
Knights also rejected criticism from former Hawthorn champion Dermott Brereton which can be seen by clicking here.
Important fan update:

Essendon's 'home' match on Saturday night against Hawthorn is also a designated ‘home’ match for Hawks General Admission (GA) members because they play four home games in Tasmania so get the opportunity to attend four ‘away’ matches in Melbourne as ‘home’ matches.

As such, all Essendon Bronze GA members should get to the game as early as possible to ensure they get a seat in the GA designated area.
