The Essendon players participated in a weights session with a difference last week -the team had to dress up in working class attire and meet at a warehouse at the Docklands. The warehouse was the training ground for the bobsleigh team who just competed in the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Fitness coach John Quinn arranged a temporary weights circuit - property stewart Ady Schwegler moved the weights equipment from Windy Hill earlier in the day. Quinn also organised a DJ - who belted out Aussie rock, including the crowd favourite ""Working Class Man"" (Cold Chisel) and ""You Shook Me all Night Long"" (AC/DC) - to keep the Bomber boys entertained and get in the spirit of the session.

Quinn designed the program to break up the monotony of normal weight training. The weights session lasted for just over one hour and climaxed with Adam Ramanauskas, Aaron Henneman, Cory McGrath and Damien Peverill attempting a run on the bobsleigh and only making it half-way down the runway.

Highlights included:

  • Joe Misiti clad with King-gee overalls and bandana on head trying to lay concrete.
  • James Davies directing traffic in his orange reflective vest.
  • Farmboy Aaron Henneman, ready to milk the cows in his overalls.
  • Paul Barnard impersonating Angus - the lead singer of AC/DC.
