The only good news to come out of last night for Bendigo and Essendon was that Mark Alvey is available to play this weekend. Alvey was given a severe reprimand by the VFL Tribunal for allegedly striking.
Bendigo play Tasmania in the first Elimination Final this Saturday, August 28th at York Park, Launceston at 6.30pm.
There was only one player at Stadium Australia last Saturday night that collected more than 20 possessions and it was a young man who has arguably produced the best month of senior football in his career. Mark McVeigh has been a standout for Essendon in recent weeks and his 26-possession effort against Sydney may well have been the best game he has played in the red and black.
