Veteran centre half-forward Scott Lucas says he will not make a decision on his playing future until the end of the 2009 season.
The 31-year-old spearhead – who is on a one-year contract - said there are a number of factors to consider before making a decision on whether he wanted to play on next season.
“During a year you have your ups and downs which can influence these types of decisions,” Lucas said.
“I want to make sure I am making the right choice so I plan to wait until season’s end before deciding either way.”
Lucas, who has played 266 senior games, has made his presence felt in Essendon’s forward line since being recalled following a stint in the VFL where he was sent to regain form.
He has kicked 13 goals and averaged 18 disposals in his past four games.
