Scott Lucas has been in career best form over the past couple of weeks. Single-handily he turned the game in the Elimination final against West Coast last week when the match was up for grabs. After moving down to center half forward in the third quarter, the 24-year-old kicked three goals and his attack on the football was inspirational. With the possibility of spearhead Matthew Lloyd missing the match against Port Adelaide, Lucas is a big chance to play forward again. ""I don't think I will start at full forward, but it's possible I may start in the forward line,"" Lucas said.

The former Geelong Falcons player said that the team has trained well this week and is looking forward to taking on minor premiers Port Adelaide. ""Everyone is fit and raring to go and it will be great to have Hirdy back. I think we're a big chance against Port. It was a good win at the weekend and you never know, if we get over this week you never know what can happen,"" Lucas said. ""It will be tough this week, but we're all hopeful of playing well, and I thought it was a great team performance last week. I think there is that extra incentive, and the fact it may be our last game is all the motivation we need,"" said the 2000 premiership player.

Lucas has played in nine finals for the Bombers and believes the finals experience of the team will be a big factor in the result. Port Adelaide is yet to win a final and only two of their players have played over 10 finals each and they are two former Essendon players - Gavin Wanganeen and Damien Hardwick. ""I think our finals experience as a team will certainly be beneficial. The feel around the club is really positive and everyone is looking forward to the match on Friday night,"" Lucas said.
