PEVERILL GETS HARDWICK GUERNSEY
Rookie success story Damien Peverill will wear the number 11 guernsey in season 2002. When Damien Hardwick was traded to Port Adelaide the number 11 jumper became available. Peverill approached the Essendon match committee to see if he could take over - his name was alongside number 11 when the full list was announced today. ""I really admired the way Damien played his football and it is a great honor to wear the jumper. If I can play half as well as he did for this club I will have done well,"" Peverill said today. In other changes, Paul Salmon will wear number four and Danny Jacobs will take over Dean Wallis' old number (21). The full senior list plus numbers is attached.

The Bombers number one draft selection Shane Harvey will wear number 38 while Joel Reynolds has been given number 40. Simon O'Keefe has number 41 while Andrew Welsh takes the number 42 guernsey vacated by Danny Jacobs.

The ENGINE ROOM will soon feature a video series with Damien Peverill in which he talks about the motivation behind wanting the number 11 guernsey. Peverill also talks about finally being a senior list player after having been overlooked in an amazing seven drafts. The five-part feature will run in the Engine Room in January.
For the remainder of December and into the New Year, the Engine Room will be running profiles of each player on the Essendon senior list. We will have a look at what went right in 2001 and what went wrong. What will the coaching staff want from each player and how might they be used in 2002. Today we take a look at BLAKE CARACELLA. Caracella is undoubtedly one of the Bombers stars and he is now one of the most consistent performers in the side. He will be critical in 2002.
