“The best full-back in the league, enough said! Just needs to stay away from the tribunal.” Mark Mannion.
“Learn to curb your fists Dustin. You let us down this year with the Reports and suspensions.” Rae Thompson.
“A excellent season, really holding the backline together. Absolutely wonderful when running off the backline.” Daniel Nugent.
“Beat most of his opponents, unfortunately missed too many games because of injury and suspension. Had a better year than last year.” Brent Van Rooyen.
“A true champion. Would have given him a 10 but the suspension in the finals was very disappointing - although I didn't agree with the decision.” Karren Hirst.
“Probably our most valuable player, over and above Hird, Lloyd and Johnson. Flexibility combined with height make him one of the top three key position defenders in the AFL. Only negative is tendency to get himself into spots of bother with the tribunal! Whilst he's been used up forward, I'd like to see him used there more often when game situations allow - I don't think he's as comfortable there yet as many people think, and his goalkicking is not overly confident or outstanding,” Rene Wijnen.
“If only he'd play every week. The facts speak for themself. We tend to struggle without him.” Matt Kruljac.
“Another stellar season. A real superstar, has been for many years. So important to us, as seen in our semi-final loss to Port Adelaide.” Ryan Miranda.
THE WASH UP:
It was pretty simple really. A sensational footballer who just has to keep himself out of the tribunal. Bombers fans are big Dustin Fletcher fans and know just how important he is to the side. However, the vast majority of the 879 report cards that came in, fans said they were bitterly disappointed by his suspensions came at critical times.
MARK HARVEY SAYS:
He has just got to be more disciplined and he knows that better than anyone. Our win / loss ratio when we are without him shows just how critical he is to the side and we need him there week in, week out. But when he was out there he was sensational – I would give him a 10 out of 10 but I suppose you have to take one off for the discipline problem. The one part of his game that I think goes unnoticed is his kick-outs. He is the best in the competition in that area as far as I am concerned.
