The latest Bomberland poll, which asked fans which day of the weekend they preferred to watch the Bombers play, created huge interest. Just under 2,300 users voted in last week's poll and Friday nights and Saturday afternoons were the overwhelming winners.

Of the votes collated, 995 wanted to watch the Bombers on Saturday afternoons, 937 opted for Friday nights while Saturday nights (222) and Sunday afternoons (142) were well behind in terms of popularity. The battle between Friday nights and Saturday afternoons was fierce and many of our voters had something to say on the issue.

These were some of the comments our voters had to make:

Chris from Clayton says: I do not have a lot of free time, so I cannot really afford to spend the ""whole day"" on a Saturday or Sunday. Friday night football is a great way to relieve stress after a hectic week at work.

Rob Liddle from Brighton says: Night football inevitably clashes with social functions and commitments, and also makes it virtually impossible to eat a proper meal in the rush to get to the ground on time.

Nicolas Devereaux from Brisbane says: Yes I prefer Friday nights as I stay up and watch the replay but this year Channel Seven seems not to be showing them. The Friday night game against the Roos could be one of the best games of the year and it won't be telecast in Brisbane.

Harry Robinson from Dulwich HIll Sydney says: I live in Sydney, so I can only watch the Bombers on TV. It seems that channel 7 will not be showing AFL games on Fridays in Sydney unless its a Swans game. This is why I voted for Saturday games.

Tony Bloomfield from Blackburn says: A mix of game days and times is ideal as it allows people with work commitments to get to a larger number of games

Mike Kennedy from Balwyn says: Saturday afternoons are best for transport and for fitting in with other important weekend commitments eg. junior footy/family functions on Sundays. Friday nights are ok with the whole weekend to recover but Sundays are no good at all.

Andrew Philpot from Warrnambool says: Friday night games are good to watch on TV, but living in the country and working until 6pm makes it impossible to get to Melbourne to attend.

Dom Leahy from Ballarat says: I love going to the footy to watch the Mighty Bombers on a Friday night to relax (or not!!) after the big week of school. Im glad that a lot of our games this year are at Colonial or the MCG on Friday nights.

Sylvia Williams from Mildura says: As a country member who tries to get to all home games, I certainly do not like games on Sundays. It takes 6 hours to drive back to Mildura or alternatively the last plane gets to Mildura at 11.30pm. Not conducive to work on Monday morning!

Glenn Carey from Fremantle says: I ticked Friday night as being in Perth I am guaranteed coverage where as any other time of the weekend nothing is certain as priority is given to the Dockers and Eagles. But I have to say that I would prefer to see them Saturday afternoon if I was back living in Victoria.
