On and off the field Essendon is constantly search for ways to do thing better and set new standards in the AFL.
The latest development is the use of a giant Samsung media backdrop 'wall' to better promote the club, it's events and corporate partners.
The electronic backdrop was unveiled at Hayden Skipworth and Scott Camporeale's recent media conference and will become a feature at key Essendon announcements.
It will be used to help promote key games like ANZAC Day, Dreamtime at the G' and Clash for Cancer plus milestone matches.
Samsung’s Head of Corporate Marketing, Lambro Skropidis, said the company has long been at the forefront of digital technology and, to mark the start of the 2009 AFL Season, is bringing a new approach to the traditional media board by providing a stylish LCD wall for Essendon news conferences.
“It is an innovative event communication tool made up of nine free standing LCD monitors that lock together without the need for any wall mounting to create a highly flexible, electronic ‘canvas’ for Essendon’s messages,” Mr Skropidis said .
""The Bombers were looking for yet another way to continue to position themselves as a leading club in the AFL, and what better way than to take advantage of their partnership with Samsung and utilise their exciting new monitor solution.""
Stay tuned as the season progresses and the boys at the Bombers have some fun with this new wall at their press conferences.
It might have been a VFL practice match but the numbers spoke for themselves and could not be ignored: 33 possessions and seven goals. So impressive was the game of 19-year-old David Zaharakis last Saturday that the life-long Essendon supporter will now make his AFL debut against Fremantle on Sunday.
