The Bombers endured torrential conditions during an afternoon training session yesterday when they headed to Broadbeach oval on the Gold Coast.
The players were already completely saturated after a 10 metre run from the team bus to the clubrooms but bad weather could do nothing to hold the Bombers back from completing an important skills session ahead of Saturday's first intra-club practice match.
With water pools forming all over the ground, it gave the Essendon boys a perfect opportunity to work on their skills in the wet or, to be more accurate, extremely wet.
Coach Matthew Knights said, despite the shocking conditions, the training was important so the players could maintain touch.
The team completed a modified 60 minute session before heading inside to mingle with supporters and sign autographs.
Vision of the training session will be available in Bomber.tv next week.
Essendon coach Matthew Knights has promised there will be ""no holding back"" in Saturday’s intra-club practice match at Casey Fields oval. ""This is our first intra-club practice match after a long pre-season and I want the players to crank it right up, including the senior players,"" he said.
