The Bombers can confirm forward Jake Stringer sustained a syndesmosis injury during Friday night’s win over Collingwood at the MCG.
Scans today revealed the nature of the injury, with the 26-year-old likely to be sidelined for at least the next six to eight weeks.
“It’s disappointing for both Jake and the club. He had a terrific game on Friday evening and underwent scans earlier today which confirmed the nature of his ankle injury,” general manager of football Dan Richardson said.
“The club will fully support Jake in his recovery and he will complete his rehabilitation program in Melbourne over the coming weeks.”
