Scott Gumbleton and Leroy Jetta are the latest Essendon players to have drawn interest from other clubs during the AFL Trade period.
Fremantle has been reportedly linked to the duo, who both come from Western Australia. Adelaide has reportedly also expressed interest in Gumbleton.
List Manager Adrian Dodoro said the pair are required players at the club, but acknowledged they were exploring their opportunities elsewhere.
“Scott is a required player and is an immense talent,” Dodoro said.
“He and his manager have expressed a desire to look elsewhere purely for more opportunity and nothing else, but we respect that.”
Jetta only played eight senior games this year, but Dodoro was confident that the livewire forward would remain in the red and black next year.
“Leroy is a contracted player and is a quality player when he is up and running,” Dodoro said.
“He did play a fair bit of football in the VFL, so this year was a disappointing year by his standards.
“He is contracted and required, but we respect the fact that he said if he had opportunities elsewhere he would look at it.
“However at this point in time, he will be playing for us next year.”
Speaking with Trade Radio this morning, Dodoro said conversations with the Western Bulldogs were still ongoing in relation to Stewart Crameri.
“We’re still talking with the Bulldogs, but our number one priority is to retain Stewart,” Dodoro said.
“They have offered pick 22 on the table, but we don’t think that’s a fair deal and our preference is to push deeper in to the draft.”
