Hocking praises teammates strength
Essendon midfielder Heath Hocking has praised the ability of his teammates to rally together over the last few months in the face of theongoing ASADA investigation.
Hocking, a member of the Bombers leadership group, was one of the first players interviewed for the investigation and told The Hangar it had been an emotional process.
“They started with the leadership group so I had my interview and it is a tough emotional ride because it is something new and very foreign,” Hocking said.
“It has been tough for some players that have had to go into ASADA and have their interview because It is obviously an emotional thing to be under the pressure of a pretty significant interview.”
“I can’t say I have been in an interview before of that calibre so it takes a lot out of you but our job is to play football so we are really conscious of looking after each other and focusing on our game.”
Hocking said the playing group had been amazing in the way they had supported one another since the investigation began in February.
“It has been quiet a big six weeks with everything that has gone on off the field but to the club and players credit we have stuck together and have actually been playing some good footy,” Hocking said.
