Essendon Football Club and Official Community Partner, Melbourne Airport, have again teamed up to deliver 2013’s Coaches Master Class session for coaches from the Essendon District and Riddell District Football League’s.??

Held at Windy Hill and involving a record 108 local coaches from both leagues combined, the session was designed to impart elite level football knowledge in a practical and applicable form for community football clubs in the North-West region.

Bombers Assistant Coach Matthew Egan was on hand to take the group through forward line setups and lead patterns, and current senior player Kyle Hardingham spoke of his journey from community football in his home state of WA to playing at the highest level in one of the nation’s most successful sporting clubs.

Essendon’s Community Engagement Officer Ben Brennan, himself a product of the Riddell District Football League, coordinated the session and specifically tailored it to suit the needs of grass-roots football.

Essendon Football Club thanks Melbourne Airport for their ongoing support of this important annual event, and applauds the great group of local coaches whose desire to learn new concepts and approaches is impressive.

“It’s really encouraging to see so many local coaches and clubs taking part, and we’re pleased to again support this great program to develop the football talent in our local community,” Melbourne Airport General Manager of Corporate & Public Affairs, Matt Francis said.
