Almost one thousand Essendon fans have shown their support for the red and black on Saturday morning turning up to cheer on the team during an open training session at Windy Hill.

The players took part in their final training session ahead of Sunday afternoon’s big match against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.

Fans cheered on their favourite Bombers before mingling with the boys after the session for photo and autograph opportunities.

Coach James Hird said his side are ready for a big clash against the Power at 4.40pm on Sunday.

“We are taking them very seriously as they are a very good football team,” Hird said.

“They play the right way, the defend first, they are good around the contest and it will be a game that I think both sides are looking forward to.”

Earlier this week the club passed 55,000 members surpassing the all time membership record.
