A familiar face dropped by the High Performance Centre on Monday morning with veteran defender Dustin Fletcher joining his younger teammates for training.

Fletcher took part in running and skills training along with the club’s first to fourth year players who have already been back for a week.

Teammate Michael Hibberd said it was great to see the veteran out among the club’s younger brigade.

“He always tries to come in early to make sure he is in good touch for when he comes back full time,” Hibberd said.

“All the boys were rapt to see him, he did some 1km’s with us, ran pretty well and looks in good knick.”

Also back on the track was key forward Michael Hurley after recovering from post-season ankle surgery.

Sporting an off-season beard, Hurley looked at ease taking part in a number of running drills as he prepares to return to full training next Monday.

Back from his off-season break senior coach Mark Thompson was a keen onlooker as the players worked their way around their new home.

Newly appointed assistant coach Nathan Bassett was on hand for his first session in the red and black as he spent his first official day at the club meeting his new colleagues.
