Essendon Football Club Chairman Paul Little has assured members and supporters there is no new information regarding potential outcomes in the ongoing ASADA investigation.

Following commentary in the media on Friday the club contacted the AFL and ASADA to seek clarification on the issue surrounding potential infraction notices.
“Last time these issues were raised we made our enquiries through the AFL and ASADA and again those enquiries have indicated to us that there are no new issues that we need to be advised about,” Little said.

“We are sincerely sorry for the trauma that these constant comment are causing to all of us but at this point in time we don’t have any information to suggest anything has changed in relation to those allegations.”

Outgoing WADA President John Fahey clarified his comments in Saturday’s Weekend Australian.

“I have no knowledge nor do I want it,” Fahey said.

“I have had some general discussions at different stages over the past year with different personnel, none of which have had any detail in it. I steadfastly refuse to accept detail.”

“It has always been my understanding that when they finish their investigation there is a strong likelihood that action will be taken.”

“I have learned nothing in recent weeks to suggest one way or another that is correct or incorrect. It has just been my understanding for a long time.”

The Club understands the current ASADA investigation is an ongoing process.
