Bate and Sikora named in VFL squad
Essendon captain Matthew Bate and big man Michael Sikora have been rewarded for their strong start to the season with selection in the VFL squad for the State game against Western Australia Football League (WAFL) in a fortnight.
Bate and Sikora will meet their fellow squad members next week when the squad meets for the first time over two training nights.

Gary Ayres will coach the VFL State team alongside assistants Gerard FitzGerald and Simon Goosey.
The squad of 32 named features only seven members of the 2012 VFL team with a host of new names set to line up on May 11 against WAFL in Northam.

Former Bomber Brendan Lee has been rewarded for his great start to the season in the WAFL being named in their squad for the match.
