Students from Gisborne Secondary College were treated to a fun-filled day on Wednesday at the inaugural open training session at the True Value Solar Centre.
As the winning school from Essendon’s Community Seminar in 2012, thirty year seven students and staff members were treated to a private tour of the new facility and an informative presentation in the club’s renowned community space, The Flight Deck.
The Flight Deck is a dedicated learning and development space that sees the most of contemporary technology and engagement tools adopted to add strength and value to the club’s work. As part of the club’s long-term vision, the Flight Deck will be a key part of the club’s engagement with the community.
The students also had a chance to get up close and personal with the playing group, watching them train and having photos taken with their idols.
Essendon will run another community program seminar early in the New Year. When the school term resumes, the club will outline all the programs it has on offer to schools in the North-West region in Melbourne.
