Essendon Football Club is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Para-snowboarder Matthew Robinson.

Matthew suffered neck and spinal injuries in a serious race accident on February 12 while competing at the IPC World Cup finals in La Monila, Spain.

After spending eight days in hospital in Barcelona, he was cleared to travel back to Mebourne on board a specialized Air Ambulance when he suffered a cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

The Club sends its condolences to Matthew’s family, his teammates and the Australian Paralympic Committee.
